ProEu is a pro-European Union personal blog, built on a few ideas:
- I’m interested in the long-term meaning and success of this project.
- Every issue I take on will be approached constructively. Finding problems is an overrated activity – spotting what doesn’t work is easy. Spotting opportunities is the real work.
In short, ProEu is a place to think long-term about the project of so many countries being united. After centuries of nationalism, is this a lost cause? I see the opportunity in precisely that fact. Italian, French, German, Dutch… we grow up believing these labels tell us something meaningful about the people who live in those countries. If I succeed, then next time we travel, anywhere in the world, we will see only strangers around us, people we know nothing about. What a refreshing thought that is.
